This page explains, in plain terms, what data TipWisely collects, why, and who it's shared with. The short version: TipWisely does not sell personal data, does not require an account to read any page, and collects the minimum needed to keep the site running, understand which pages are useful, and process a purchase or donation if you choose to make one.

Analytics

TipWisely uses Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are read, which countries and situations are searched most, and how visitors arrive at the site. Both tools collect standard web-analytics data (page views, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring site) and neither is used to build an individually identifying profile of you. Google Analytics uses cookies for this purpose; you can block or clear these through your browser's privacy settings at any time without losing access to any page.

Newsletter (Brevo)

If you subscribe to updates, your email address is stored with Brevo, our email-service provider, solely to send the newsletter you signed up for and the one-time welcome message that follows signup. Your address is never sold, rented, or shared with unrelated third parties, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link that removes you immediately — no confirmation email, no delay, no dark pattern.

Payments (Stripe)

Purchases of the Global Tipping Pocket Guide and donations made through the support-us page are processed by Stripe. TipWisely never sees or stores your full card number — Stripe handles that directly and provides us only with what's needed to confirm the transaction completed (amount, timestamp, and a transaction reference). Stripe's own privacy policy governs the payment data it processes on our behalf.

Contact form (Formspree)

The contact form is processed by Formspree, which delivers your name, email address, and message directly to our inbox. That information is used only to respond to your message and is not added to any marketing list unless you separately subscribe to the newsletter.

Affiliate links (Amazon Associates)

Some outbound product links on gift-occasion pages are Amazon Associates affiliate links. If you click one and make a qualifying purchase, TipWisely may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon's own privacy and cookie practices govern what happens after you leave our site through one of these links.

Your choices

You can browse every content page on TipWisely — countries, situations, gifts, calculators — without providing any personal information at all. Cookies used for analytics can be blocked or cleared through your browser at any time. If you'd like your newsletter subscription or contact-form message deleted, email the contact page and it will be removed.
